INVENIO

Single Click FIR to VIS/UV Spectroscopy

With highly innovative INTEGRALTM interferometer and the pioneering MultiTectTM technology, allowing in total for up to 7 internal detectors, INVENIO can be configured as the R&D FT-IR spectrometer with world’s highest multispectral automation level. Even more: adding e.g. a two-position sample shuttle reduces user interaction to an absolute minimum and can deliver an extremely broad spectral range from far infrared to VIS/UV.

On the software side, these exciting possibilities are fully leveraged by the new OPUS multispectral range measurement. In case of suitable spectrometer configuration, the user’s workflow can even be minimized to just inserting the sample and starting the measurement once. Afterwards, change of optical components, several background & sample measurements and the merge to one single result spectrum are done fully automatically. However, full flexibility is maintained since all measurement parameters can be customized, if applicative requirements should change.

Visit our website to further explore the unique R&D capabilities of INVENIO.

OPUS 8.5 Spectroscopy Software

Release of OPUS 8.5

We are glad to announce that version the 8.5 of OPUS, the leading software for measurement, processing and evaluation of IR, NIR and Raman spectra is released.

Besides many detail improvements OPUS 8.5 marks the first true 64 Bit OPUS release. Since this enables a much larger amount of addressable working memory (RAM) the processing and maximum size of 3D (e.g. imaging or time resolved) files are significantly improved. Also in general the native 64 Bit software operation is a benefit resulting in workflows with utmost efficiency.
Furthermore, new OPUS 8.5 features include e.g.:

• Enhanced performance and workflow for microscopy
• New multispectral range automation for R&D spectrometers
• ONET compatibility for ALPHA II FT-IR routine spectrometers
• Optional extension of Quant 2 calibration range
• Import of Windows users allowing for OPUS login with Windows account

If you are interested in an upgrade, please contact your local Bruker representative or send an inquiry via our online contact form. Visit our OPUS website to find out more about the unique functionality and performance of the OPUS software.

Please contact us for an OPUS 8.5 upgrade.

Handhald Raman Spectrometer BRAVO

Secure Electronic Records on Handheld Spectrometers?

Handheld Raman spectrometers enable fast and cost-effective raw materials testing and are getting more popular. However, especially handheld analyzers being mobile, stand-alone operated instruments generating electronic records, naturally bear the risk of data loss – just by the fact that e-records are recorded on a mobile unit. Bruker’s BRAVO is the sophisticated handheld Raman analyzer dedicated for the Pharmaceutical industry offering out-of-the-box compliance to the extensive regulatory requirements, including instantaneous backup of e-records and reporting options from the spectrometers to a Protected Data Pool – the answer of Bruker’s OPUS spectroscopy software suite to Data Integrity.

Please feel free to get in contact with us if you will have any further questions.

Fentanyl Trac Detection using Ion Mobility

Finding a Needle in a Haystack – Fentanyl Trace Detection using Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS)?

IMS is an efficient and fast tool for on-site detection of fentanyl analogues in complex matrices.

The role of synthetic opioids in overdose fatalities in recent years has been increasing dramatically. Fentanyl and its derivatives are major players in the so-called `opioid crisis` in the U.S. and are also gaining significance in the rest of the world.

As a leading supplier of Ion mobility spectrometers, Bruker determined that they could develop this technology to safely identify fentanyls for users operating under challenging conditions.
In contrast to complex and expensive techniques such as GC or LC-MS, IMS analysis requires minimal sample preparation, takes only seconds to perform and can be carried out directly in the field. In a recent application note two battery powered IMS devices were tested for suitability of fentanyl detection.

Download here the Application Note.

Online Monitoring of Polymer Production with FT-NIR Spectroscopy

Online Monitoring of Polymer Production with FT-NIR Spectroscopy

The polymer and plastics industry needs fast reliable, non-invasive and cost-effective analytical methods for process control. The FT-NIR spectroscopy has a distinct advantage compared to other technologies: It provides a real-time assessment of the process on a molecular basis.

This close reaction monitoring allows a precise control of the process e.g. by quantifying the important intermediates or detecting by-products. The reaction yield can be significantly improved and faulty batches prevented.
