De-tector flex

Chosen to Protect World Leaders at G7 Summit

As Germany took over the G7 Presidency in January 2022, the 48th G7 summit was held from 26 to 28 June 2022 in Schloss Elmau, Krün in the Bavarian Alps, Germany for the second time.

The extensive security measures for the summit were coordinated by the German Federal Criminal Police (BKA) and executed by a team of officers from the Federal Police, Customs and the BKA itself, utilizing a whole portfolio of the most advanced screening, detection- and surveillance-technologies available on the market.

For trace detection of explosives, the BKA chose the Bruker Optics DE-tector flex, a state-of-the-art system for explosives trace detection, widely used by security forces all around the globe. Bruker Optics supplied 5 DE-tector flex instruments to the BKA, who used the systems to screen a wide variety of incoming goods, persons and vehicles before admission to the secured area around Schloss Elmau where the world leaders gathered to discuss some of the most important topics in global politics.

This was the second time that the reliable Bruker detection systems were chosen to protect the world leaders’ summit, the first being at the G7 in Germany in 2015. We at Bruker are proud to provide continuous support and reliable technology to the German security forces and help them in making such high-level meetings safe and secure.

FT-NIR Spectrsoscopy for Edible Oils & Fats

Near Infrared Spectroscopy has been a well-established technique in the agricultural sector for decades and is today an important element of quality control in the food industry. Modern multi-purpose FT-NIR spectrometers can analyze both, liquid and solid samples and are the ideal tool for the non-destructive and rapid analysis of oilseeds and finished oils throughout the entire manufacturing process.

New TG-FT-IR Coupling

The combination of a thermal analyzer with an FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer) has become an absolute must, especially in the polymer-producing, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Bruker Optics GmbH & Co. KG has been collaborating with the well-known producer of thermal analyzers, NETZSCH Analyzing & Testing, since 1993. Prior our 30th anniversary of cooperation in 2023 we have launched the new TGA II for superior combined TG-FT-IR analysis. A higher temperature of the heatable gas cell, the transferline and the Coupling adaptor as well as the cold spot reduction, lead to an unprecedented performance even for high boiling samples.

Watch our joint Webinar with NETZSCH and discover the new TGA II coupling system.

A Strategic Partnership for Plastics and Polymer Analysis

Together with the "Polymer Institute for small and mid sized enterprises Lüdenscheid", also known as KIMW, Bruker is driving the development of reliable and effective plastics analysis. Learn from KIMW's Martin Doedt why FT-IR spectroscopy is a vital tool for plastics analysis in our latest video.

Detector Selection in IR Microscopy? We got you covered ...

In our technical whitepaper we show you which is the best detector for your FT-IR microscope. We compare the advantages and disadvantages of DTGS, TE-MCT and LN-MCT and share a direct spectral comparison of all three. Furthermore, we give you valuable advice on chemical imaging and explain the difference between mapping and true FT-IR imaging.
